The Essendon Recreation Reserve is more commonly known as Windy Hill. It was the home of Essendon. They played their home matches at Windy Hill up to the 1991 season. Essendon continued to use Windy Hill as their training ground. From 2014, Essendon moved to a purpose-built facility next to Tullamarine Airport.
